I was traveling in a village, where i had seen many animals bought up as pets. I was amazed by looking at an elephant.
Elephant was tied with a rope made of horse hair. Though the elephant was strong enough, it wasn't trying to break the rope and run. I really didn't understand why such a huge animal was not trying to break the rope.
I asked the Mahout(one who rides elephants): Why an elephant is not trying to escape even though it can ?
Mahout: Because when the elephant was born we tied it with an iron chain and it was much younger hence it couldn't escape. When it started growing up, it assumed that he cannot break the chain and it's of no use trying.
Moral:
We are tied to such chains, when we are small and we assume that we cannot achieve something because we were told we can't do it.
Everyone is made to think within their limits and boundaries are kept in our childhood. If we break the boundaries then we get punishments. Hence we develop a kind of fear of not breaking the boundaries and limiting our minds to think.
We must be open to all kinds of difficulties, we must have faith in ourselves and just because someone has said that you can't do it doesn't mean that you can't do it. When you have will power and faith in it then you can achieve everything in the world.
